Modern Biology

A unique and immersive listening experience was crafted that allows audiences to hear the music of plants and mushrooms. Utilizing a bio-electrical converter, subtle changes in impedance are translated—correlated with bio-electrical activity in organisms—into control voltage, the language of analog synthesizers. The process follows a path where plant signals are converted and passed through analog oscillators, modular synths, and effects, resulting in an extraordinary auditory experience.

This listening experience was brought to life through curated “field trips,” where participants gathered in natural settings, donned headphones, and listened to the music of the surrounding plants.

More recently, we collaborated with Le Mar and Bang & Olufsen to conduct a special sensory experience at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies.

This event served as a marketing activation for the launch of Le Mar’s new skincare line. Using the natural ingredients from the skincare cream, a chef-inspired meal was curated, and guests enjoyed the meal while Tarun Nayar crafted an auditory experience using those same ingredients.
